As an organization, the Filipino Community of Bakersfield
& Vicinity, Inc. was formed to:
- Promote and preserve the cultural heritage of Filipino Americans in Kern County
- Provide opportunities for Filipino Americans and their families to participate in civic, social and political activities in the community.
- Assist new Filipino immigrants and their families by identifying resources, providing direct services or giving community support in their time of need
- Promote civic duty, citizenship and strength in diversity
- Provide strong community support for the Filipino-American youth in their scholastic, educational and creative pursuits
