This year, Labor Day falls on a Monday. This means you get to spend a long weekend! If you haven't planned anything yet, come to San Francisco for a great time with your friends and family.



Aside from the usual tourist activities, San Francisco has a lot of activities going on for the long weekend! Check out these events happening on Labor Day long weekend!

1. Shakespeare in the Park


When: September 1 – 23, 2018 on Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday at 2:00pm
Where: Presidio’s Main Post Parade Ground Lawn
Admission: Free

The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival puts on a free performance of the classic summer romance, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in the lovely Presidio. Make sure to arrive early to secure a spot!

2. Millbrae Art & Wine Festival


When: September 1-2, 2018
Where: Broadway Avenue, Millbrae CA
Admission: Free. For wine tasting, a minimum amount will be charged.

The Millbrae Art & Wine Festival is perfect for adults. This Mardi Gras-style celebration is an exciting mix of food, wine, art, and music. This is one of the biggest street festivals in the area this weekend and they’re celebrating their 48th year! You can expect tons of great events, exhibits, performances, and more.

3. Sausalito Art Festival


When: September 1-3, 2018
Where: Sausalito Waterfront
Admission: Admission to the Sausalito Art Festival is separately ticketed and is not included with the Go San Francisco Card.

The Sausalito Art Festival is a celebration of all things creative. If you’re a fan of art, food, and/or music, this is the place for you. This three-day event showcases music from more than 10 different bands, tons of children’s events, and features a plethora of visual arts on display.

4. Yerba Buena Gardens Festival


When: August 30 - September 2, 2018
Where: Yerba Buena Gardens
Admission: FREE

Yerba Buena Gardens Festival is an independent nonprofit presenting 6 months of admission-free performances reflecting the rich cultures and creativity of the Bay Area. Programs are outdoors, family-friendly and ADA accessible.

5. Architecture and The City

When: Whole month of September
Where: Happening in different areas of San Francisco
Admission: Select Architecture and The City events are free. Events that  require tickets may buy their tickets on the website.

The largest architectural festival in the country hosts a number of great events on Labor Day Weekend. For its 15th installment, “Future City” is the theme of this year’s festival. Enjoy professional architecture tours, film screenings, lectures, exhibitions, and more. This event is sponsored by American Institute of Architects, San Francisco
