Awards Season begins with the Super Bowl of award shows, the Golden Globe Awards. And Filipino American talent in both front of the camera and behind-the-scenes are earning collaborative recognition through their contributions.
Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes shine a spotlight towards the best in both television and motion pictures. In addition, its winners become the precursors of who the winners will be in the following awards shows thereafter most notably, the Academy Awards.
And, the event is going to be special this Sunday with 2018's representation of diversity and culture. Among the Filipino American talent in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes who contributed their skills into their movie and TV projects, the nominees are…

As the doomed antagonist Andrew Cunanan in FX’s "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story," Darren Criss is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor In A Limited Series or Made-For-Television-Movie. And, much like his Emmy win for Best Actor at the 2018 Emmy Awards, if he takes home the Golden Globe, he will become the first Filipino American to do so.
The second season of "American Crime Story" received a nomination for Best Television - Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. The miniseries focused on serial killer Andrew Phillip Cunanan (portrayed by
Darren Criss) who terrorized the U.S. in a killing spree, most notably the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace in 1997 under many guises and identities just for the sake of wanting the lifestyle of the rich and famous. FilAm actors

Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is one of two animated movies nominated for Best Motion Picture - Animated. Nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for 2017's "The Edge of Seventeen,"
Hailee Steinfeld voiced the character of Gwen Stacey in the animated 2018 Spider-Man movie. Moreover,
