There are numerous excellent camping sites in California. We previously highlighted the Kirby Cove Campground in San Francisco. But, more camping sites are waiting for you to experience, including the Chilao Campground in Los Angeles.

Chilao Campground, located in the Angeles National Forest, is an ideal camping spot for nature lovers. This area is surrounded by plants and animals and is situated at an elevation of 5,300 feet above sea level.

It has 83 campsites split into two loops: Manzanita and Little Pines. Each site can accommodate up to 8 people. There is also a group site that can hold 20 to 50 people. Meanwhile, each site is limited to two vehicles.

This campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require reservations, making it ideal for those who enjoy spontaneous activities with family, friends, and other loved ones. You can also bring your pets, but they must be on a leash and attended to at all times.

Amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets are available at the campsites. However, there is no potable water in the area, and campers are advised to bring their own.

If you visit Chilao Campground, you can also enjoy the Chilao Visitor Center, Silver Moccasin Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and the spectacular sunset over the San Gabriel Mountains.

Recommended time to visit the campground is during mid-week to secure a space because it is packed with campers every weekend.
